                The date for the four holidays of Birthday of Prophet Mohammed (Jan 14),Idu’l Fitr(Ramza- July 29), Idu’l Zuha(Bakrdi Oct 06) and Muharram (Nov0 4)  have been adopted from the Central List.  If the State Government changes any of these holidays, the changed date only will be observed as a Closed Holiday for Central Government Offices also.  But, if the Stae Government sanctions any additional Holiday(s) in connection with the above occasions, the date of such additional holiday(s) will be observed as Restricted Holiday(s) only for Central Government Offices.  If the change of date of any of the  above occasions is notified at very short notice, announcement through TV/AIR/News Paper can be taken as authority for such change.

Roll out of network Integration Project under IT Modernization 2012

Sub: Roll out of network Integration Project under IT Modernization 2012
Ref: This office letter dated 09.04.2013 and 15.05.13

                                       This is continuation of this office letter dated 09.04.13 and 15.05.2013. Circle Office intimated this office that Sify will supply network equipments to all offices immediately.

The project is divided into two phases. Kerala Circle comes under second phase. Sify technologies will,

1. Erecting antenna
2. Supply network devices along with their enclosures
3. Extend the electrical power and earth these network devices
4. Commissioning of of BSNL and Sify network
5. Decommissioning of existing Wan and BSNL Broad band network

In order to facilitate the migration the following activity needs to be carried out in each post office

1. A Suitable place for fixing the rack and switch needs to be identified.
2. Arrange proper earthing to the rack power supply (not greater than 3 volt)
3. UPS power supply provision needs to arranged for the locations identified for fixing the rack.
4. PM /SPM of the office should receive and keep the network devices shipped by M/S Sify under safe custody and be handed over to the Sify technician when he visits the office for installation. The boxes should not be opened. The unpacking will be done by Sify persons.
5. PM/SPM of the office should check quantity of hardware, serial number of router, Switches, racks and other information, on opening of the box by the sify persons.
6. In charge of the office to check whether all applications are working satisfactorily in the new network.
7.Officer in charge to provide sign off in 4 copies to Post offices, Regional office, PMU and Sify.
8.The devices are going to be delivered through Express parcel of DOP. The delivery may updated through Speednet.
9.An activity check list and basic reference sheet on NI migration is enclosed for ready reference.

Provision for Re-direction of ePOST Messages-reg

 NIC has provided an option for Redirection of ePOST Messages. Operators can use this facility for redirecting the ePOST Messages to the correct PO and hence  transmission of Messages through RMS  can be avoided. The option is included under Services Menu in the ePOST website The Step wise Procedure is given below.

1. Login using user credentials.
2. Services> Redirect
3. Operator have to Select the Message Type which have to be redirected
4. Redirection is possible only after taking Print outs of Messages.
5.The date upon which the print out has been taken should be selected and Click on GO Button.
6.The Message id of the Messages will be displayed
7.Select the Corresponding Message ID, which is to be redirected.
8.There is an option for Giving the Receivers Address.
9.You can Skip Sl.No 8 and Click on GET ePOST Centre Option.
10. After that you have to select Region Name, Division name and ePOST Centre name from the Option.
11 The selected PO name and PINCODE will be displayed
12.CLICK ON SUBMIT BUTTON.
13.'Redirection Successful Message will be displayed".

Sub: New version of CBS Pre-migration monitoring website  reg

                  A new version of CBS pre-migration website has been hosted in servers of CEPT, Mysore.  The user manual for the new version is attached.  The User Manual is also uploaded in the same website under the link circulars and reports..  The new version requires daily upload of extract file of Data Profiling Tool(DPT)., The Data Profiling Tool has to be first installed in Post Offices. The DPT is available for download in software Development Centres’s website in the following link:
            The User manual for DPT and a solution document on how to settle the discrepancies is also available in the same link.
The new version of CBS pre-migration monitoring website will be used to monitor data cleaning activity of offices identified under Phase 2 B. The user i.d and password for the Phase 2 B post offices is attached in  excel sheet. This may be communicated to offices identified under Phase 2B.  It is requested  to kindly instruct the Post Offices to upload the DPT extract and enter data daily from 25.5.13. This will be reviewed in the Project Arrow VC scheduled on 7.6.13.
